Seams to Me

“The Best Half of Summer Sale.”

What better time to have a sale than August! I am offering selected fabrics at great sale prices, just for the month of August, to keep you inspired for the best half of summer. There are many new fabrics just around the corner. New textures, colours and designs await your home in traditional, transitional and contemporary styles. Isn’t it exciting to create a new look to an existing space? Quite often, home owners get started on a project, and then get stuck towards the end because they have run out of steam or ideas. My clients find that when they call me in, I have fresh new ideas. I can guide and help them tie up all the loose ends and complete the interiors with design, colour, style, and enthusiasm to give their home that last punch of WOW factor, bringing the project to completion.

H2 SideOn a Personal Note

Jamie & Wilma's Anniversary at the waterfalls!

  • Summertime – a season of Weddings and Anniversaries.  Jamie and I celebrated 24 years this July, and actually got away, right here in Ontario, for a great and relaxing time, enjoying fine food, beautiful garden surroundings, and my favorite – waterfalls!
  • When we got back, we were able to bless my Mom and her lady friends with a night away at our house, enjoying our property, and my version of “fine food”.

H2 SideROOM OF THE MONTH

Mary Arrand contacted Sensational Seams because she wanted a new window fashion for her dining room. The aim was to provide privacy but also to enhance the elegant aspect of the room. A rich copper, brown, embroidered fabric was styled into closing panel drapes. A chunky brown wooden pole was used to enhance the fabric, plus match the colour of the furniture. The finished style provides an air of grace and elegance!

“The new drapes have provided the finishing touch to my dining room. Wilma was very helpful in guiding me through the process of choosing fabric and I was delighted to see the quality of the drapes when they arrived.   Overall, it was a very pleasant experience working with Wilma.” Mary Arrand,

Did You Know?

Please add us to your safe senders list.Did you know…It’s easier than ever to create custom blackout drapery with J. Ennis Fabrics newest collection?
The Citadel Collection is an FR* drapery fabric with built in blackout lining. It blocks out 99.9% of light with no extra lining required! Durable enough for sunny windows as it passes AATCC 16 Level 5 UV resistance. This book features 23 skus in 4 patterns - Notable is a faux linen, Devoted is a textured solid and both Lavish and Handsome are reversible stripes…double the choice for drapes that look chic on both sides of the window!

Did you know…? Uncovered windows can cause as much as 40% of a home’s energy loss. Linings help with light control, noise control, UV, shaping of lightweight drapes and protecting your drapery fabric. Blackout drapery linings are used to prevent exterior light sources from entering a room through windows where total light control is desired.

Do you know what a 3-pass blackout is? Three different coatings or “passes” are applied to the base cloth. 3-pass blackouts are better for energy efficiency, due to the additional layer of insulating foam.

Do you know what a 2-pass blackout is? The first pass is a grey opaque black layer applied directly to the base cloth; the material then receives the finish coat of either white or ecru foam. 2-pass is an economical, lighter weight alternative to a 3-pass.
