H2 SideOn a Personal Note

Holiday Season!

  • With all the Christmas events coming closer, I have had a great time going with Jamie into our back 38 acres, cutting down a pine tree, cedar tree and birch bark branches to decorate the inside and outside of our home.  There is something special about going onto your property, and gathering all of the summer season’s dried up flower pods that are now just blah, dried up brown, lifeless flowers, and re-cycling them into beautiful outdoor Christmas urns, and being able to share the fresh smell of pine with others.

  • May we be ever mindful of the real reason for Christmas, the most precious gift of Jesus coming into this world to save us from our sins, and grant us eternal life.

  • Both Kasia and Tamara have been involved in a school project, collecting information for their family tree.  It has been quite an adventure, going through old photos, recalling dates, times, and locations, and most of all, treasured memories of those people in our lives who have passed on, or who we see only on a rare occasion.  May we be ever grateful for the people that influence us, and share such an important role in our lives.

H2 SideROOM OF THE MONTH

My clients had talked about updating their living space, but finally this year they decide to do it! The initial meeting, was a paint colour consultation for their home, but they soon realized they wanted a complete new look! They appreciated the fact that Sensational Seams worked with qualified contractors that maintain a high standard and the fact that we can also provide all the components of interior design, from fabric, blinds, rugs to a fresh coat of paint. In the living room, we first removed the old wallpaper, and refreshed the room with a new paint shade – Elemental Green. We then put wallpaper on one wall – the feature wall. The bow window previously had flat sheer panels that didn’t enhance the curve of the window. Wilma placed HunterDouglas Silhouettes on each window pane then framed the window with a valance, swag and cascade, of embroidered, black silk. The hardwood floors were also accented with a new area rug, tying in the colours of the walls, furniture and window fashions, and anchoring the room. A small ranch bungalow window in the dining room was also finished with HunterDouglas Luminettes, complete with a matching swag and cascade treatment. The proverbial family rocking chair was updated and upholstered with a new cushion in the same fabric as the window treatments, adding that final sensational look!
