Seams to Me

“Seams to me”
that we are creating a lot of excitement in Clarington and designing windows with WOW!  2012 has begun with a great start with many new changes for Sensational Seams. We are excited to be invited into your homes to create spaces that are above the "norm".  Jamie and I had the awesome opportunity to attend the Exciting Windows! 8th Annual Conference in Baltimore this past weekend to affiliate ourselves with the best leaders, designers and decorators in the business. We had the privilege of listening to Sally Morse - my greatest inspiration and mentor for years now. It was such a delight to hear her share the opportunities to make your homes even better - and that's exactly what I am prepared to do.  It was so great to be around people who share the same passion we do and be challenged to be better, be more creative, and offer more services to our business.   I have always been creating unique and sensational solutions for your homes and can't wait to see what inspirations 2012 will bring. I want to rise above the challenge and would be honoured the opportunity to work with you. Valentine's Day will be here before you know it, be sure to read Jamie's opinion below on motorization!

In My
Opinion

by Jamie Kulyk

MOTORIZATION - Fancy word for "Control at the touch of a button". AUTOMATION - Fancy word for "Works by itself". How does this apply to window treatments? Have you ever thought about the difference that motorization would make?

As Valentine's Day is quickly approaching, imagine this setting: The evening was planned with such care. It was a time for romance, eloquence and lingerie. The proper music selection and volume was set. The lighting, also selected to an ambient setting. All plans have resulted in a perfect evening. Even the moon was full and shining into the bedroom, putting the room aglow. It's the next morning. The couple has been woken to the roar of the neighbour's lawnmower. Now that's a problem! While still in bed, noticing through the window the neighbor working in the bordering garden and the kids peering into the bedroom while raking the leaves. NOW WHAT!!!??? Remote control window coverings could save years of ridicule from the neighborhood. With the touch of a button, the shades will come down and give you the privacy and light control you need. Wilma can show you our vast selection of beautiful window treatments at your disposal, and I am your Motorization and Installation Specialist who will ensure that your window coverings are installed safely, properly and in a way that suits all your needs. Let our expertise come up with a window solutions that caters to you!

H2 SideROOM OF THE MONTH

Rick and Judy Fister had beautiful California shutters installed on their window of their Great Room when they first moved into their new home. While the shutters were lovely, the room with cathedral ceilings still seemed bare and cold, and they could not figure out what was missing. Judy was referred to Wilma Kulyk of Sensational Seams for help. Wilma provided various interior design options that were affordable. In the end, the Fister's preference was to enhance the windows with a drapery treatment. The treatment side panels were fashioned from a bold, classic fabric of brown and gold stripes. The swag at the top was made of a complementary pin-dot diamond fabric looped over a black and gold wood rod and finial. This dramatic look now balances the room, and gives the Fister's the sensational atmosphere they were hoping for! View the transformation online - sensationalseams.com

"I received excellent service from Wilma and I am very pleased with the choice of material and style that she helped me select for my great room. She is very professional and has a gift for colour. She was also able to provide me with design options that were affordable. I highly recommend Wilma. I am hoping to use her services in the future. -- Sincerely, Judy Fister,Newcastle

Needles to say

Works like a charm!

CHARM - - "Latin 'carmen, 'song,' 'verse.' An incantation that is alleged to work magic or a small object (lucky charm) that brings good luck.

A charm was originally a magic spell in the form of a chant or verse recited to make something happen. Later the word came to mean an amulet. So "It works like a charm" means "It works like magic." Whether that is a recommendation depends on how effective the speaker believes magic is; but I don't know where or when people first said it. Probably when belief in magic was more common.
